Legacy Review (Score: +1)

Power:
Excellent off idle response will rival even modern bikes, good mid, not much of a revver but, hey, it's a 600 4 stroke. Very tractable powerplant.

Suspension:
Rear is very good within the limits of 9 inches of travel, forks are too soft stock. Increasing oil level or stiffer springs will improve the forks considerably.

Handling:
For a 350 lb. bike, handling is very good. Stability is excellent, cornering decent, the weight rears it's head big time in technical sections. Street handling rivals many street-only bikes.

Brakes:
Rear is very good, front relatively mushy. Front fades when pushed hard.

Reliability:
Great with a few exceptions. Mine went about 30000 miles and needed only 1 set of rings and a valve grind. Keep the oil clean and valves adjusted and they go forever. Weak points were the CDI and the wheels which cracked easily when ridden hard off road.

Overall:
Overall excellent motorcycle. Enough power to go anywhere, even two-up. Mine returned over 50mpg on the street. Will hit over 100 mph stock and still practically idle up steep hills. Dual carb system was excellent, if you change to an aftermarket exhaust go to the TT600 jetting. Difficult to start in cold weather, 1 kick when it's warm. Wish I still had mine...........

Rating:
95
